DIY MERMAID CROWNS

Every mermaid needs her crown. These easy DIY crowns make for a great party favor, or activity during the party. Plus, if you create the backdrop above you’ll be able to model them for the ‘gram!

YOU WILL NEED

  • Headband
  • Tulle cut into strips of 8″ x 1″
  • Shells of various sizes
  • Hot Glue Gun or Mod Podge Glue

STEP 1

Take a pre-cut strip of tulle and tie a knot from the center along the headband. Continue to tie knots using alternating colors. We used two but feel free to use as many colors to your hearts’ desire!

STEP 2

Apply some glue to each knot to secure it to the headband.

STEP 3

Start attaching shells using your glue to secure. We used the larger shells in the middle, then medium and small on the sides.

There you have it, an easy, fun and pretty mermaid crown for you to wear! If you’re using these as an activity during your event – get creative! Add in some paints, or bedazzle your heart out!

We can’t wait to see all of your stunning sea themed celebrations. Tag us @jollityandco and use hashtag #partywithjollity – it’ll mermaid our day.

How to throw a Bachelorette Party during COVID

Bachelorette parties are one of the most highly anticipated pre-wedding events- we know how disappointing it must feel when they can’t go as planned.

With the uncertainty of travel, you may be thinking “what’s a bride and her crew to do?” It might seem impossible to plan your final fling during a pandemic, but we’re here to show you that’s not true!

Gather your bride tribe and pack your bags! We’re having an old-fashioned slumber party right in your hometown! Bonus points if someone has a family lake house we can borrow but if not, your MOH’s trendy apartment will do just the trick!

To air on the side of caution, order take-out from the bride’s favorite restaurant. Designate one of the bridesmaids to play bartender and have her whip up a batch of our Rosé Sangria. (Trust us, it’s dangerously good!)

Since you won’t be hitting the town, go crazy with decor, party favors and all the fun tableware. This will help make the weekend feel special and keep everyone excited!

Hung on the wall or grouped in clusters, these heart shaped balloons are the perfect addition to your bachelorette celebration. Throw in the Let’s Party Bitches banner to really set the tone for the night ahead!

PS: How cute is this for a photo backdrop?

Back to School

All across the U.S. and the world, going back to school is going to look a LOT different. Some students are going back remotely only, some are heading back into the classroom and some are doing a split schedule. With all the craziness of this year and going back to school, we thought we’d share two ideas to make things extra special for students and teachers!

FOR STUDENTS:

Surprise your kids on their first day with balloons and a fun gift. Place it either at the front door for when your kiddo gets back from school, or for virtual learners at their bedroom door when they wake up for the first day!

Fill the box with fun little gifts, back to school supplies, an encouraging card, colorful napkins and plates for their lunches and more. This is a great opportunity to jazz up the school supplies that were on their list or encouraged for virtual learning.

Decorate the box using things around the house to match what your kid loves. We took inspiration from Dr. Seuss for our box!

FOR TEACHERS:

Let’s be honest, teachers are superhero’s and they deserve the best – this year they will be navigating so much. Show your kids teacher some love with a gift they’ll love to put on their desk and with a card showing your appreciation.

While 2020 just seems to get crazier and crazier it is important to remember that together we can make small events, large events and everything in-between special. Even going back to school!

We’d love to see how you’re celebrating the kids going back to school; whether they’re going back online, into the classroom, or both. Tag us on social media  @jollityandco and use hashtag #partywithjollity.
