Father’s Day Celebrations

Heads up people! If your head wasn’t spinning from the busy month of May and it’s time to round the corner and hit Father’s Day. We’re thankful though – we’re always looking for a reason to celebrate – especially in times like these!

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 21 and to help you get ahead of the game we’re showing you the perfect tablescape for dad. Move over florals and pinks, Jollity is ready to show you something a little more masculine! Check out some options for setting the table for your dad below.

Set a football themed table for the dad who loves tossing around the old pig skin ! Mix and match the tableware, you can go neutral or select colors from his favorite team. To decorate the room add color coordinating balloons, honeycombs, and put some throwback games on the tv. Then let dad sit back and relax, while you all grill up some game day goodies!

Featured Products: Posh Silver Fox, Posh Noir, Femme Dessert Plates, Table Runner, Foil Straws, Koozies and Fringe.

This tablescape is perfect for the dads who have had their weekend brewery plans foiled by social distancing. This tablescape is inspired by a plan to have an afternoon tasting craft beers. We added a fun twist to every place setting, by putting a beer in a koozie on each plate. For the little one’s or those who don’t like beer, use bottles of Root beer or San Pellegrino’s. Bonus tip: set this table up outside to give your dad the ultimate brewery at-home experience and mark his seat with this beer balloon!

Do you live with a dad the one who must see every Oscar nominated film? Bring the movie theater to him this Father’s Day! Set the stage (aka get the living room comfy), pop some popcorn and put on his favorite movie. Don’t forget to add movie themed decorations and consider doing a dine-in movie. Serve up the tasty meal while dad enjoys a great movie!

Featured Products: Femme Collection items, Black & White Guest Napkins, Table Runner, Gold Flatware and Foil Straws.

This tablescape is perfect for the dad who’s a cool cat and kitten! If your dad watched the show and is obsessed, bring the show to life for him this Father’s Day. Pair animal prints with vibrant green colors, set character inspired place cards at everyone’s seats and don’t forget these tiger masks. It will definitely go down in the books as a memorable Father’s Day!

Featured Products: Markle Collection Items, Posh Bubble Mint, Posh Ruby Kiss, Enchanté Guest Napkins, Foil Straws and Table Runner.

Break out all your red, white and blue themed decorations and grill up the all American favorite, hot dogs. To increase the fun ratings, have this meal outside picnic style. The best part of this tablescape? Whatever you don’t use, can be saved and used for the Fourth of July!

One of our teams favorite things is getting to see people’s parties when we are tagged on social. Regardless they’ve purchased their goodies online or we’ve helped them in the store, it brings us so much joy to see the milestones and ways people are celebrating each other. Each party always has such a distinct flair too it- the results always blow our expectations out of the water.

With celebrations looking drastically different in quarantine, everyone is doing their best to make events special. We love how this mom did an impromptu photoshoot using honeycombs, number balloons and 3 foot balloons for her daughters 2nd Birthday!

If we didn’t already have a MAJOR obsession for charcuterie boards, this Fourth of July set up really solidified our love. We take great pride in how functional our products are and she really put our plates and napkins to the test with this amazing dessert board!

There is no question that our black and white Femme Collection is a bit more muted than some of our other vibrant and bright colored pieces. But pairing these products with rustic accents made the leopard print POP. She knocked it out of the park with this tablescape!

A big reason we started our own line was to bring people together for all events. Between the girls wearing matching colors that pair perfectly with the Posh items to the mom wearing a Crown Headband, this photo was definitely making our faves list!

A blanket fort and food?! What could be better?! We love how she took our Lilac and Pink Posh products and used them for an every day activity, lunch. It comes to show that you can use them for anything, not just the special events in life. Plus no dishes – count us in!

There is always something so fun about taking party supplies and using them in unconventional ways! We love how they used our Pretty in Pink Charger Plates as wall decor. It’s a simple and sweet 13th Birthday party, which is what the collection is about!

If there is anything we love more than cute party supplies it is food, especially sweets. This little camp setup gives us all the feels and has us dreaming of being next to a camp fire and roasting s’mores! This mom brought the outdoors inside and used our plates as the perfect platter!

When we see our Mauve-Elous Collection used, a majority of the time it’s for an Engagement Party, Bridal Shower, etc. It’s never used for pizza night, which is why this picture made our faves list. She elevated dinner with beautiful party goods!

We love how she threw a pool party with our Shell Yeah Collection! Our die-cut seashell plates were great when the kiddos snacked on these mermaid cupcakes and the cocktail napkins were perfect while the adults sipped on a poolside beverage or two!

We also wanted to dedicate a section of this blog to all the pups who love our party goods. They are hands down the cutest and they made these parties look like so much fun Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate who the real MVP’s are of quarantine? The fur babies!

We would love to see how you style our party goods! Tag us @jollityco and use hashtag #partywithjollity

Quarantine Olympics

As we wait anticipation for the COVID postponed Olympic games, we’ve decided to take the opportunity to make our own Jollity inspired Quarantine Olympics!

Below are some fun family games, that can be played in the safety of your own home or yard.

Toilet paper bowling, one of the most popular Quarantine games and it’s perfect for all family members, no matter their age! To start, split the family into two separate teams. At the end of the day, the loosing team will be tasked with doing something…we recommend the dishes after dinner!

  • Rolls of Toilet Paper
  • 10 Paper Cups
We opted for our Posh Cups because they’re super fun, colorful and a bit bigger than your average paper cup.

To setup the game, create a bowling lane in a long hallway, or room. At the end of the hall or room, line up the cups and make them into the shape of a diamond. Start with 4 cups in the back, then 3 in the second row, 2 in the third row, and 1 solo cup in the front.

Now it’s time to start the game! Split into your two teams and play ten rounds. Each team member will get two turns per round in attempt to knock down all the cups.

Each cup is worth one point. Keep track of the points for each team member, tally them up at the end and see which team won this challenge.

You can also do fun variations here with stacking the cups in different formations!

Next up, is Balloon Jousting! It’s the perfect game for all of those competitive family members.

**This game is one that MUST be supervised by adults and we recommend playing this game in a garage or driveway.**

Grab a balloon for each member of the family then blow them up. Using a sharpie assign each balloon a name, pertaining to whose balloon belongs to which family member.

Next, take the painters tape and stick each balloon to the floor. Be sure to spread the balloons out in equal distances around the room. Once the balloons have been been placed around the room, put the Roomba in the center of the balloons.

***This step must be completed by an adult.***

Make your jousting stick by attaching a knife to the top of the Roomba. Use painters tape to hold it in place. Be sure that your knife is safely secured to the Roomba.

Time to get this tournament started! After securing the knife, hit the power button and let the Roomba take over!

The Roomba will go around the room, and one by one take out the balloons. The last one standing, is the new champion!

If you don’t have a Roomba, play another balloon popping challenge. Here’s one of our favorites:

Have everyone write their name on their blown up balloon. Next, put all of the balloons in the middle of the room and set a timer for thirty seconds. The goal is to stomp as many balloons as possible until there’s one balloon left. The remaining balloon wins the game. To make it even more challenging assign multiple balloons to each person. The more balloons, the harder it gets!

Playing with kids? Use juice. Playing with friends? Drink whatever.

  • 1 Cup for Each Person
  • Beverage of Your Choice
  • A Table

Start by filling everyone’s cups halfway. Next, gather around the table. Make sure teams are on the same side of the table and the opposing team is across. Give yourself enough space between each other to play.

The first person on each team chugs their drink. Then, they place their empty cup on the edge of the table.

Using their fingers the player has to try and flip the cup completely upside down. The trick is, it has to land upside down on the table, once this is accomplished the next person on their team goes.

The first team to finish first wins the challenge!

Have you ever hear of the game 52 Card Pick Up?

52 pickup or 52-card pickup is a practical joke using a standard deck of 52 playing cards. Two players and a pack of 52 cards are needed. The first player offers the second player a game of 52 pick-up (or 52 card pickup).

If the second player accepts, the first player scatters the 52 cards over the floor and says “52 – pick up!”. The second player’s job is then to reassemble the pack of cards by picking them all up.

50 Straw Pick Up is the Jollity version of the game! Here’s how to play:

To setup the game, you will need to empty each pack of straws and put them into coordinating cups.

Split up into your two teams. On the same count, dump the cup of straws onto the floor. Have the first person on each team rush to pick up the straws. Each straw must be picked up one at a time, and placed back into the coordinating cup!

Each player has 15 seconds. Once the first player completes the task, it’s the next team member’s turn to go. The team to pick up all the straws first wins the challenge!

We hope all of these Quarantine Games give your family a fun activity to partake in and may the best team win!

Car Parade Decoration Ideas

Birthdays, graduations, and many of life’s other “big moments” may look a little different these day in the Q… but, that doesn’t mean the celebrations have to end!

Whether you are participating in a parade around the neighborhood or taking the guest of honor on a tour in your vehicle, a car parade is the perfect way to celebrate any occasion, while keeping a safe distance from your loved ones.

Below are few simple ways to decorate your vehicle and have it stand out!

Add a balloon garland to the side of your vehicle to really make a statement. Don’t worry about the hassle and let us do all the work! Simply start by filling out our Balloon Installation Inquiry Form. *In-store pick up and delivery options available.*

If your celebrations are a bit more stationary, another idea would be to decorate the trunk of your car. Fill the trunk with presents, balloons, banners, etc. Guide the guest of honor to the trunk and watch their excitement when they see the fun party decor and of course, their presents!

Just because it’s a social distancing celebration doesn’t mean it can’t still be fun! Check out a few more suggestions on how to decorate specifically for the graduate, newlyweds and the birthday boy or girl.

At Home Diner Party!

We are understanding that it’s still “Safer at Home,” but let’s be honest, we miss eating at a restaurant. We also need a change of scenery, so we came up with a solution…a diner themed dinner at home!

First things first, clear the kitchen table and decorate! We thought this pink, mint, light blue and yellow color scheme was the perfect combination to make us feel like we’re right back in a 50’s retro diner. We used Bubble Mint and Mint to Be from our Posh Collection for the paper products and this pink and white striped table runner for decor. The best part about using these products is that they’re super cute and they make for an easy cleanup – can’t beat that!

Now, onto what’s for dinner. Emulate a real dine-in experience by creating a menu, printing it out and taking orders to let your family pick and choose what they want. Keep the options simple, but don’t make yourself a short order cook! Keep it fun by grabbing your chef hat and tiny little sous chefs and get to cookin’!

Find our printable menu here, use ours or fill in your own on our template!

Finally, onto our favorite part…dessert! No diner experience is complete without a milkshake. Grab your favorite flavor of ice cream and add 4 large scoops (about 1 and 1/2 cups) to a blender. Blend it together with 1/4 cups of milk. Pour into one of our 12 oz Posh Cups and then garnish with whipped cream, sprinkles and a maraschino cherry!

Virtual Wine Tasting with Mom!

Unfortunately for our team, all of our sweet mama’s live out-of-town. Due to our current state of social distancing we’ve had to get creative with how we plan to virtually celebrate Mother’s Day from miles away.

While our staff had some pretty great ideas, our most-popular witty cocktail napkin said it best: “Let’s Drink Wine and Talk Shit About People.” So, one idea led to another and…a virtual wine tasting it is!

  • 3-4 different wine options of your choice
  • Wine Tasting Party Kit or Tasting Papers
  • 4 Wine Glasses or Paper Cups
We especially love our Posh Cups. They’re 12 oz (perfect size for quarantine wine) and come in so many different cute colors!
  • Writing Utensil

Send mom 3-4 bottles of wine using your go-to grocery delivery service and purchase bottles for yourself. You’ll want to make sure you both have the same wine options, so you can enjoy them together.

Now, we’re going to have to teach mom how to download zoom. If she is anything like our “tech savvy” mom’s, this may take a while. (Dad’s, can you help us out here?)

Once you’re able to hop on a call, pour a glass of each wine. Bonus points if you send Mom her favorite color of disposable Posh Cups. No one wants to do dishes after a few glasses of wine and especially mom on Mother’s Day!

To get the full vineyard experience, pair the wine with some of your favorite cheeses. Our durable charger plates are perfect for charcuterie boards!

As you’re tasting each wine, jot down all your thoughts on the tasting papers. See if your taste buds are “like mother, like daughter” and compare your notes!

If you are so fortunate to be able to spend this day with your mom, cherish every moment. For those of us having to resort to technology just remember, this too shall pass. So eat, drink, laugh and ENJOY!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mama’s out there! If you decide to go [virtually] wine tasting, show us! Tag us @jollityandco and use hashtag #partywithjollity

DIY Piñata Birthday Celebration

Celebrations right now certainly have a different feel to them. With Zoom parties and drive-by-birthday parades, it can be hard to bring the same element of excitement to a celebration. Here at Jollity & Co, we’re putting our nose to the grindstone, and coming up with fun twists to celebrations and new ideas to help you bring some excitement home.

For those who have early May birthdays and are in #quarantinestatus, a great way to bring in fun decor and create a theme is to tie-in Cinco de Mayo. This year Cinco de Mayo falls on Taco Tuesday, but a fiesta is always a fun celebration no matter when you’re celebrating!

Why not add a personal touch to the fiesta and get crafty? Check out how we decorated our mini number piñatas below. These can be made days in advance and then stuffed with fun trinkets for everyone!

Not celebrating a birthday this May? We have different fun shapes that are perfect for other occasions!

  • DIY Piñata
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Fringe Garland
  • Anything you have lying around in your craft box.
Think pom poms, glitter, google eyes, paint…get creative!

Hot glue the fringe garland to your DIY Piñata. We happened to have this number 5 laying around and thought it was a cute nod to the holiday, but an empty cardboard box, cereal box or an old shoe box works perfectly!

Once you’ve wrapped the fringe around the length of your piñata one time, trim the excess. Repeat steps 1 and 2, alternating with fun colors until the whole piñata is covered.

Start decorating your piñata. We have these precious little pom poms left over from our DIY maracas, but you can use anything you have in your craft arsenal. Let the creativity flow!

Let the birthday fairy fill them them up with treats and voila, now you’re done. They’re perfect for place settings at a birthday meal or on top of a pile of presents!

How are you celebrating birthdays at home? We’d love to see! Tag us in your celebration @jollityandco and use the hashtag #partywithjollity
