Crafts + Cocktails

Cinco de Mayo, is that you? If you’re like us, you’ve been longing for a really great reason to shove tacos in your face, down margaritas and get the kiddos off your back. Have no fear, we have you covered with a fiesta inspired craft for the little ones and cocktail for the mamacita’s who deserve some margaritas!

FOR THE CRAFT YOU WILL NEED

  • 2 Paper Cups
We opted for our Emerald City Posh Cups.
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Rice or Dried Beans
  • Pom Poms
You can also use other fun items like googly eyes or paint to decorate, get creative.

STEP 1

Take one cup and fill it about 1/3 of the way with your rice or beans. We used a paper plate, but you could use a funnel or pour directly from the bag. Whichever works for you!

STEP 2

Using the hot glue gun, line the top of the rice filled cup. Then place the other cup on top. Make sure they’re firmly glued together. You don’t need rice or beans flying everywhere.

STEP 3:

Finally glue the pom poms around where the cups are connected and decorate freely. Olé olé, the kiddos have some maracas for play!

Now it’s cocktail time! Who’s up for a muddled mango margarita?

FOR THE COCKTAIL YOU WILL NEED

  • Cups or Glasses
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board or Plate
  • Shaker
    We love this one!
  • Shot Glass
Or you can free pour, we don’t judge.
  • Muddler
  • Mango (or cut frozen mango)
  • Mango Juice
  • Tequila
  • Ice
  • Lime
  • Sugar for rim
  • Plate to put sugar on
We opted to match the plate to our Emerald City Cups.

STEP 1

Peel and cut your mango into small cubes and put ¼ cup into the cocktail shaker. Don’t worry about cutting it if you’re using small frozen mango pieces. Muddle the mango.

STEP 2

Next, add 2 shots of tequila, the juice of half a lime, ½ cup of mango juice and 1 cup of ice into the cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously! If two shots isn’t enough add more – it’s been a long week of home schooling.

STEP 3

Using a slice of lime, line the rim with lime juice and then dip it into the sugar.

STEP 4

Add a little ice to your cup, pour in the cocktail and finally, garnish with a slice of lime and some mango cubes. Enjoy!

If your little ones make the craft and/or you make this cocktail, share them with us! We would love to see them, tag us @jollityco and use hashtag #partywithjollity
